Message from the Associate Principal
It is a true honor to welcome you to ninth grade—a milestone year that marks both the continuation of your educational journey and the beginning of exciting new opportunities.
As Longhorns, we believe that education is a lifelong process and that every student can achieve success through effort, discipline, and determination. Our mission is to cultivate a culture where curiosity is encouraged, resilience is strengthened, and mistakes are seen not as setbacks, but as powerful opportunities for growth.
This belief is not the work of one person alone—it is a shared commitment. Our teachers, staff, families, and students all play a vital role in shaping an environment that is safe, supportive, and filled with high expectations. Together, we are preparing young people not only for academic success, but also to become compassionate citizens who will contribute to their communities and inspire future generations.

Gear up, Longhorn Nation! Fall testing season is here, and United High School is ready to show what Orange Pride is all about. Our Longhorns kick off October strong with the PSAT/NMSQT, charging toward college readiness and chasing National Merit recognition. Throughout the autumn semester, students keep pushing the pace on the TSIA to lock in college-level benchmarks in reading, writing, and math. To close out the semester in early December, Longhorns step up to conquer the STAAR EOC exams—tackling English I & II, Algebra I, Biology, and U.S. History to clear those vital graduation milestones. Stay tuned to the UHS counseling center for exact schedules and room assignments, and let's bring that legendary Longhorn excellence to every exam! Hook 'em!
The United High School 9th Grade Campus was established relatively recently as part of the United Independent School District's strategy to address increasing enrollment and alleviate overcrowding at the main United High School campus. Initially, a new campus right next to the main building opened in August 2009 for the 2009-2010 school year to house freshman students. However, the current, dedicated United High School 9th Grade Campus, often referred to separately and with its own Associate Principal, officially opened its doors in August 2017 to focus entirely on the educational transition and unique needs of ninth-grade students. This configuration is part of a wider district model that utilizes separate ninth-grade campuses for its high schools.
